Aid for Families Displaced by Cyclone Ditwah in Seruwila Sri Lanka

This project was carried out to support families who were displaced by severe flooding caused by Cyclone Ditwah in the Seruwila area of Sri Lanka.

Hope Is Better Inc. raised $4,000 (approximately LKR 1,236,310 as of December 12, 2025) and, through the Seruwila Community Development Foundation, directed these funds to provide emergency assistance to affected families. The support focused on distributing dry food packs valued at LKR 9,000 each to 137 displaced families in Seruwila and nearby villages. Each food pack contained essential dry food items to meet immediate household needs.

Due to the cyclone, many families lost their homes, access to food, and basic services as flooding and mudslides caused widespread damage to communities, roads, and infrastructure. This project helped address urgent needs and supported displaced families as they began the process of recovery with dignity and hope.
